A Beautiful Friend

She is around twenty years old. She is a loving friend. She is always reflecting such beauty. I have recently realized what a companion Mrs. Kitty has been to my family. I have grown up knowing her for most of my life. She came into our lives as a young, princess, complete with a special pink bed, a carrier, a litter box, blankets and pretty jewelry. Although she has the misfortune of being clawless in the front paws, she has always been a survivor in the outdoors. From a delicate young girl to a healthy & fearless roamer, Mrs. Kitty is the definition of strong and wise. Proving that with obstacles in your life you can get around them and live strong. This is an ode to her.

The Mist

Mild the mist upon the hill
Telling not of storms tomorrow;
No, the day has wept its fill,
Spent its store of silent sorrow.

O, I'm gone back to the days of youth,
I am a child once more,
And 'neath my father's sheltering roof
And near the old hall door

I watch this cloudy evening fall
After a day of rain;
Blue mists, sweet mists of summer pall
The horizon's mountain chain.

The damp stands on the long green grass
As thick as morning's tears,
And dreamy scents of fragrance pass
That breathe of other years. -Emily Bronte

Menacing Doomsday Devices

These images were all captured during my most recent trip to Albany, New York. A few look like end of the world devices and the others...well, old rusty bits I suppose. I mean, who else would NOT need a suitcase full of dusty metal and sun flower seeds? I believe it is a nice change from soft portraits and colorful flowers. Enjoy!
