The Grasp

A beautiful portrait of Lynsey...a quiet, still moment caught as she seeks something. But what? Her eyes are searching...

Gold

I titled this post "Gold" for it represented a common theme in all of these images. Unfortunately I see her less than a handful of times throughout the year but each time, I take out the camera for a quick ten minute shoot resulting in great miniature goddess pictures. Photographs express a forever memory and these images represent a youthful freedom in the beauty of summertime. Enjoy.

"A beam of the slant west sunshine
Made the wan face almost fair,
Lit the blue eyes' patient wonder
And the rings of pale gold hair."

A Beautiful Friend

She is around twenty years old. She is a loving friend. She is always reflecting such beauty. I have recently realized what a companion Mrs. Kitty has been to my family. I have grown up knowing her for most of my life. She came into our lives as a young, princess, complete with a special pink bed, a carrier, a litter box, blankets and pretty jewelry. Although she has the misfortune of being clawless in the front paws, she has always been a survivor in the outdoors. From a delicate young girl to a healthy & fearless roamer, Mrs. Kitty is the definition of strong and wise. Proving that with obstacles in your life you can get around them and live strong. This is an ode to her.

Seeking

A day of fun, laughter and explorations. Trucking down to a lesser know conservation area complete with a beach, woods and broken down houses, four of my friends and I decided on the perfect day (a Saturday if you must know ha ha) to get our hands dirty with modeling, exploring and making our out right crazy ideas realistic enough for a photograph. The first stop, a broken two room house. I am not sure what it was originally used for but it contained a partial floor and broken glass windows. Nature was definitely claiming this one for the other section was engulfed in plant life and muck. A chainsaw and beauty model later, we decided to move on. As we were walking I noticed a quick photo op and demanded that my model, Lyns sit on a tree trunk and hold her neck up (for fear of it falling over) for a nice black and white portrait. After a few more varying sessions, we decided enough was enough and headed back to civilization...but of course, before we got there I spotted one more opportunity and what was done was done. Don't you just love days...you know...Saturdays?
